Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick, in 1956 - was born at Woodland Hills (California) on 5 August. Her father taught in the school system while her mother was a stay-at-home mom. There are three brothers older than her: Michael, Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started singing and performing at an early stage. Also, she performed for neighborhood kids. When McCormick was 6, she won the contest dubbed Baby Miss San Fernando Valley. The Jack Wormser Agency then contacted McCormick and asked if she would like to enter the business of show production. McCormick received her first major breakthrough in 1964. McCormick was a part of the commercial on television for Mattel's "Baby Pattaburp" doll" which was Mattel's latest doll. In the same year she was featured in an advertisement for the doll of Mattel "Chatty Caty" and soon was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play her role as the youngest daughter on the upcoming TV sitcom called The Brady Bunch. McCormick tried out for a part in the TV show "The Brady Bunch.' She was selected from over 1,200 other children to portray one of the more experienced twins on the TV show The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson played the newlyweds, and Robert Reed, the blended family. The run of five seasons of the show proved to be a huge great success. McCormick revealed, in the book, published in 2008 and titled"Here's My Story": The Journey of Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice in 2008, the fact that Barry Williams was her screen brother. The time was when she was 16 while he was just 19. The possibility was there according to her. "But the time for us wasn't the right one."
